THE CHALLENGE

First State Bank has long been committed to its communities and to actively supporting many nonprofit organizations doing good work locally. However, they wanted to breathe new life into their efforts, providing greater visibility to not only their own philanthropic efforts but to the nonprofits themselves and make a bigger impact with their efforts to improve their community.

THE GOAL

To launch an awareness campaign that encourages crowd participation in the nomination and selection of the charitable organizations that receive donations. Engage the non-profit community, as well as the geographic community, and generate excitement around the program.

APPROACH

A form was created on Woobox to collect nominations for nonprofit organizations. This solicitation for nominations was promoted in branches, on social media, and via email. A custom landing page was created directing visitors to the form which requested information about the charity. At this point, the objective was not to have multiple submissions of the same charity - in fact, only one nomination per charity was necessary! - but to get information about the organization for the bank's internal team to review with a pre-established rubric.

The rubric was utilized to pare the list down from 200 nominations to 20 across four categories. These finalists would be voted on by the public, and each voter would be limited to one vote per category.

The campaign generated over 10,000 votes and five organizations were selected to win a combined $30,000 in charitable donations.
